MCM 2.x Information

This site provides information about the Mirapoint Connector for Mac (MCM) application that synchronizes calendar events, address book information, and tasks between your calendar server and your Macintosh computer. MCM ensures that the server and the Mac applications Address Book, iCal and Microsoft Entourage contain the same data.

Basic Requirements

  • Valid user account on your calendar server.
  • Mac computer that has an English version of Mac Operating System (OS) 10.5.3 or later installed.
  • Entourage users must run Microsoft Entourage 11.2.3 or later.

Important Information about Upgrading MCM 1.5 to MCM 2.x

If you are upgrading from MCM 1.5 to MCM 2.x and/or from Entourage 2004 to Entourage 2008, check to make sure that you only have one calendar named Entourage in iCal. If more than one exists, delete all but the calendar that has actual items (meetings, tasks, etc.), and then restart iCal and Entourage to make sure only one Entourage calendar appears in iCal. Failure to do this check could result in duplicate Entourage calendar items.

Must-Read Information About Using MCM 2.x and Entourage 2008

Mirapoint recommends that you use Microsoft Entourage only to complete meeting-related tasks due to the following problems:
  • Duplicate meetings will be created if the following occurs: 1) The meeting invitation is first opened within WebMail/WebCal; 2) A sync is performed; 3) The same invitation is opened within Entourage.
    This is an Entourage- specific issue, and the problem also occurs with Entourage and iCal.
  • In the above-mentioned scenario, attendees will be unable to respond (with an Accept, Decline, or Tentative response) to the invitation from Entourage.
  • If you schedule a meeting via WebMail/WebCal and then sync, the meeting invitation will appear in Entourage as if it has not been sent. This is an Entourage- specific issue, and the problem also occurs with Entourage and iCal.
  • All-day events in Entourage will be duplicated during synchronization. This is a problem is specific to Entourage 2008 only.
